International flights:
Two Airports serve as Nosara’s closest International link.
San Jose (Juan Santamaria International Airport, code SJO) is approximately 4-5 hours by road from Nosara. This is usually the cheapest option, depending on where you fly from.
Liberia (Daniel Oduber Quiros International Airport, code LIR) is roughly 2 hours drive from Nosara.
From International Airports to Nosara:
Airlink:
There is an airlink available which flies from both San Jose and Liberia.
These are provided by Nature Air (www.natureair.com)
Flights typically cost in the region of $85 -$150 USD.
Bus:
The bus from Alfaro Bus Station leaves San Jose city daily at around 5.30am from the terminal locally known as the Old Coke Building and can take 5 hours or more, depending on the route that bus takes.
Tickets are under $10 and it is best to book your ticket before you travel in order to avoid standing all the way! http://www.empresaalfaro.com/
San Jose (Juan Santamaria) airport is actually situated in Alajuela, just north-west of San Jose it's self, so be sure to take this into account if staying at a hotel near the airport. The best way to get into San Jose to catch the bus, is by Taxi at that time in the morning.
The bus will pass the road end leading to Green Ray Villas, where we can meet you if you give us advanced notice of your travel plans.
Car:
It is possible to hire a car from one of the airport companies and leave it in Nosara or Guiones when you arrive (or when you have finished using it).
From Nosara to Green Ray Villas:
Driving:
We are situated south of Nosara, looking directly at the south end of Playa Guiones.
Take the route 160 south towards Garza. 2km after Playa Pelada, at the wooden bus stopturn right towards the beach . The next left turn (in 280 meters) will lead you to the gates of our grounds on the left.
Taxi:
There are always taxis located near to the airport, who can bring you to the Villas, or we can organise this for you.
